It's been a rough month. It's difficult getting the best Medicare part D plans, and the best pharmacies to get imatinib. But one thing I've learned, and I want to pass onto others. The Medicare.gov site was just about spot on when pricing different drugs at different pharmacies. The only problem is that you can only compare two pharmacies at a time. The same thing is true when using the Express Scripts site -- if talking to a representative gives you different information, the web page is better.

One more thing. Walmart has the best prices by far. I can't get information from Walgreens, which should have better prices according to GoodRx.com, but not according to Medicare.gov.

Here's my first month experience with ExpressScripts and Walmart. I'll add to this thread each month until I hit catastrophic care.

Imatinib mesylate 400mg. (30 pills) Retail = $8,252.27. My share = $478.54
Imatinib mesylate 100mg. (60 pills) Retail = $4,940.19. My share = $265.73

Diagnosed in February 2014. Started Imatinib 400 in April.
2014:     3.18     0.91
2015:     0.22     0.16     0.04     0.55
2016:     0.71     0.66

(Started Imatinib 600 in April 2016)
2016:     0.42     0.13     0.45
2017:     0.17     0.06     0.10     0.06     0.34

On second thought, I'll discontinue this thread and post to http://community.lls...e-2#entry195921

That was buzzm's suggestion.
