Amazing that they continue to find all of these different paths to killing off LSC's. Just a matter of time before this cancer is scratched off the list.
survenant, do you have a Google alert set up or are you researching this stuff every day?

Inecalcitol acts like a super Vitamin D3 which is more easily picked up by myeloid cells. The theory is this will make the myeloid cells (including leukemic stem cells) more susceptible to TKI drugs. For CML patients the results so far appear useful but not overly impressive.

Not to change the subject but is vitamin D3 good for cml'ers, or even myeloma'ers to take?

All essential nutrients are good for anyone, including those with blood cancers. We need them, and they make us healthier overall, but they will not cure us of any blood cancer. Some here try to impute powers to vitamins which they do not have.
This Inecalcitol does not do anything of itself to kill leukemic cells. Oddly, buy docking in a D3 receptor it appears to make the leukemic cells act more like healthy cells so they will not rely on back door survival processes, then the TKI drugs may be able to kill them. But that is theory and the trials are not very convincing.
