Do any vitamins or homeopathic remedies interact with Tasigna since my onc listed many to watch when I was on Gleevec? I especially want to take Turmeric and Fish Oil as well as Glucosomine - Chondroitin for arthritis? Does anyone have a list of so-called `prohibited' substances ? Scuba mentioned that he is a big fan of Turmeric and he`s doing very well! What about Spirulina or Chorella? I wish everyone the BEST!!!

The only items I have seen to avoid with Tasigna are grapefruit and St. John's wort.

I took those while on Gleevec with no issues. Supplements to avoid are ones that impact the liver - st john's wort is one if those. I did notice I had more bruising when I tried the tumeric. Fish oil is also a blood thinner (low level), so don't take it if you're already on something and remember to stop it a week or so before any ops.

Gerry,

I tried tumeric for a couple of weeks and had my first eye bleed ever on Sprycel (while taking 50 mg, too); decided it wasn't worth it for me. Although I've noticed that currently tumeric is getting a lot of mainstream positive press.

Hi Pat,
I have started taking it again now I am off the Gleevec and don't get the bruising, so for me there was some sort of interaction with the TKI.
