I am wondering if an epsom salt bath is safe while taking Gleevec. I looked online but I can not find anything saying there is an interaction. I trust all of you on this forum the most so I thought I would ask the experts!๐Ÿ˜Š I am wondering if the Epsom salt bath might help with muscle aches and cramping.

Can't see that there would be any interaction. Have you tried taking magnesium to help? I also took a celery seed supplement for the muscle cramps.

Gerry, Thank you for the feedback. I am hesitant to take a supplement because I have a really weak stomach. It is hard enough to keep tabs on the Gleevec. Interesting on the celery seed. I will look into that as well.

I laughed when I read this because the night before last I bought some and took a hot bath to try to alleviate my between the shoulder blade pain. I appreciate you guys so much in that we don't have to go through this alone.

Take magnesium taurate. It will be very easy on your stomach (you won't feel anything in your stomach). 125 mg at night and again in the morning should do the trick on your muscle aches and cramping. You can take the magnesium on an empty stomach with no upset. I take it with and without food ... doesn't matter.

No harm in trying to see if it works for you.

Mrs will be 11 years this March.  No amount of supplements or exercise have put more than a small dent in the pains of leukemia and Gleevec.  The 6 foot long bubble tub I put in for her with epsom salts of all kinds does give her enough relief to actually sleep a while.  It even helps with some of the skin problems all of you are no doubt familiar with.

Thank you Scuba and rct. I will try the type of supplement you mentioned if the bath does not help.
