Hi, I am on Tasigna for last 4 years. I know that this is an old question but every time I get an infection, I go through the literature and get confused. This time I got a sinus infection and was wondering if amoxicillin would be a safe drug. Can anyone please post a list of safe antibiotics for tasigna users? Thanks.

Minu,

That could be a very long list! You can find out for yourself for each individual drug you might be prescribed now and in the future by going to www.drugs.com and using their drug interactions checker. Here is the link...

Sinus infections can be dealt with by snorting warm salty water into the nostrils several times.  Put head down after snorting in salt water to cover the top of sinus cavities.  Cures it fast.

Ask the doc to check before prescribing something for you.  Every doc should have access to a drug app.

Dx: Sudden severe anemia detected 07/2011, followed by WBC spike. CML Dx 02/2012.

Rx: 03/2012-Gleevec400.  Reduced 02/2013 to Gleevec300 due to side effects (low blood counts).

Response: PCR-Und within 7 mo. on G400. Maintained MMR4-MMR4.5 on G300. PCR-Und since 02/2016.

In my personal experience amoxicillin is ok to take with Tasigna.
