Yesterday evening I noticed an odd rash on my right hand/arm. Ended up going into ER and Dr informed me it might be Petechiae. I was doubtful as my platelets were normal just last week at my recent oncology visit. Well to my surprise my platelets dropped in a matter of days for no apparent reason. I'm starting to freak out and would like to know if anyone else has had this happen only to have them even out. Thanks in advance!

You know, I get petechiae all the time despite having near normal platelets. I think my little blood vessels are just weaker and they break. My doctors are always puzzled by this. How much did your platelets drop?

I have also had my platelets drop in the few hour after I take my meds. I know this happens because once I had my labs drawn at the er after I took my meds because of petechiae and they were low...like 80 I think and the next day at the oncologist....130. Very odd

On the 27th they were 169 and last night at ER, 100 so to me that's a pretty big drop. A few months ago my platelets were 82 and onco ordered my second BMB. All came back normal. I'm worried something else is up due to the horrible hip/back pain I'm having. This new normal is truly no fun.

I have a similar rash and platelets have always been normal. Even with the drop, 100,000 is a good place to be.
