At the earliest opportunity, and whenever possible, lower your TKI dosage; TKIs are toxic drugs and the less we take longterm the better off we are going to be ... this is especially true for older adults.
In hindsight I should have started my dosage reduction two years earlier; it might have helped minimize some of the longterm cumulative toxic effects of TKIs that I am beset with.
longterm side-effects Peripheral Artery Disease - legs (it's a bitch); continuing shoulder problems, right elbow inflammation. GFR and creatinine vastly improved after stopping Gleevec.
Cumulative Gleevec dosage estimated at 830 grams
Taking Gleevec 400mg an hour after my largest meal of the day helped eliminate the nausea that Gleevec is notorious for.

With my insurance company I didn't see a price break from 100 mg until 50 mg with Sprycel, at which point it was 1/2 price. Retail is a little over $7,000 right now. Insurance costs are somewhat less. Not looking forward to Part D Medicare in January. I'd like to have a little more time of steady PCRUs and then try a drop to 20 mg.

Hi hanabellemo, thanks for catching that. When you are ready you could always begin with walking your dosage down; alternating 50mg, 25mg would equate to 37.5mg. Doing so beginning six weeks prior to the next PCR lessens any risk.

Medicare, for most of us, is where the rubber finally meets the road ... the exorbitant price of our TKI meds hits home when the first TKI refill of the year results in a high out-of-pocket cost, even with an additional drug coverage plan.
there is usually a $300-$400 nondeductible
+25% of the Rx cost until the donut hole is reached
for 2016, +45% of the Rx cost while in the donut hole
+5% of the Rx cost beyond the donut hole
for calendar year ensuing refills, 5% of the Rx cost

I don't think so. As far as I know, it's 100mg and 400mg tablets.

Not sure if I'm comparing my apples to your oranges... Edited-- Which I guess I'm not since what I posted below is for the same mg capsule.
Tasigna Plan Paid + my $95 copay (for 84-day supply)
150mg 4 capsules/day$30,000+
150mg 2 capsules/day $15,000+
I don't have exact amounts, but what they charged did get cut in half with going on 1/2 dose. Full dose started out at approx. $24,000 at the end of 2013 and is now over $30,000 as of 1/2016. Steadily rising.

Medicare is a federal program; Medicare costs aren't effected by state oral parity laws.
