Hi Trey and Everyone,

I read on the news this morning that Researchers have found a contagious, leukemia-like disease widespread among shellfish with hinged shells, called bivalves, such as clams, mussels and cockles.

I continue to wait for the PCR results from May 12th, that's 46 days ago. I phoned my hematologist's office a few days ago and they have not received it.

Diagnosed March 2014

Imatinib 400 mg. Summer 2014, Imatinib 300 mg.

Here's the reference:

http://www.scienceal...between-species

and here's the important part:

The affected species would still have to be closely related for cancerous cells to pass between them, the researchers said, which means us humans are in the clear for now.

Diagnosed 11 May 2011 (100% FiSH, 155% PCR)

with b2a2 BCR-ABL fusion transcript coding for the 210kDa BCR-ABL protein

Sprycel: 20 mg per day - taken at lights out with Quercetin and/or Magnesium Taurate

6-8 grams Curcumin C3 complex.

2015 PCR: < 0.01% (M.D. Anderson scale)

2016 PCR: < 0.01% (M.D. Anderson scale)

March        2017 PCR:     0.01% (M.D. Anderson scale)

June          2017 PCR:     "undetected"

September 2017 PCR:     "undetected"

acl, I would think your hematologist's office would contact the lab ... waiting 46 days is absurd ...

2012 PCRU, PCRU, PCRU, PCRU

2013 PCRU, PCRU, PCRU, weakly positive

2014 PCRU, PCRU, PCRU, PCRU (12/07 began dose reduction w/each continuing PCRU)

2015 300, 250, 200, 150

2017 01/17 TFR, 04/18 TFR, 07/18 TFR 0.0012, 08/29 TFR 0.001, 10/17 TFR 0.000

2018 01/16 TFR 0.0004 ... next quarterly PCR 04/17

At the earliest opportunity, and whenever possible, lower your TKI dosage; TKIs are toxic drugs and the less we take longterm the better off we are going to be ... this is especially true for older adults.

In hindsight I should have started my dosage reduction two years earlier; it might have helped minimize some of the longterm cumulative toxic effects of TKIs that I am beset with.

longterm side-effects Peripheral Artery Disease - legs (it's a bitch); continuing shoulder problems, right elbow inflammation.   GFR and creatinine vastly improved after stopping Gleevec.

Cumulative Gleevec dosage estimated at 830 grams

Taking Gleevec 400mg an hour after my largest meal of the day helped eliminate the nausea that Gleevec is notorious for.

Buzzm1, My hematologist is not worried, he told me that he will increase my meds or change meds when my PCR is 1.0%. If I don't hear from them by Thursday afternoon I will phone them again. Thanks.

Man, I thought it was bad that I had to wait five days for results from my BMB.  Of course, I was in the hospital at the time so I didn't have much else to think about.

I love seafood - especially the swimming kind, but invertebrates are good too!

You won't get cancer from eating seafood. You may get sick - especially if you eat in countries where food prep is not what it needs to be, but cancer? never.

You won't get cancer from seafood unless you are Aquaman or a merman/mermaid.

ACL, do you have a way to contact the lab yourself? Mine is sent out to Quest Diagnostics and I can login to their patient portal and view the results after a period of time has passed.

tireblood, The lab will not answer any questions, and I can not login to their patient portal and view my results. They will only send the results to the ordering Doctor. Thanks.
