I can't say I am a "prince" fan, but some of his music was interesting. He certainly had a  following.

He didn't die from the flu as they tried to report ... not at 57. Something else was going on ... like drugs:

http://www.tmz.com/2...-overdose-dead/

I post this here because I believe that man made drugs do harm to the heart, lungs and arteries. That includes TKI's. We may take a dose low enough not to get a "Prince" reaction, but over the long term who knows?

The sooner we can get off these drugs either through TFR or a bona fide immunity cure - the better.

For Prince - may he rest in peace. He's drug free now.

I've heard it was AIDS.  Doesnt really matter.  We've lost Bowie, Haggard, and Prince (this year) - and others of course, but these three are icons whose music and legacies will outlive us all.  Sucks.

He was a very talented individual. I've learned since his death that he wrote songs I never knew were written by him.

I've been doing alot of reading and he actually only did Percocet for pain, he had two hip replacements. If you look at his concerts he was really physical, better than Michael Jackson.

Close friends have said he didn't drink or do drugs.

Please don't assume that just because he was a musician Prince was an addict. I must agree with jmoorhou. It was well known in the Minneapolis music circle that Prince did not do drugs or alcohol - never did.

There was percocet found in his system but that does not necessarily mean it was the cause of his death, nor does it mean he was an addict if it was.

Thanks Pat, actually it looks like he has been doing painkillers for many years.

If this article is factual, he was an addict: http://www.dailymail...-addiction.html

Of course, people close to celebrities are not the most objective people, because many of them base their self-importance on being close to the celebrity.  If they are honest, they are often enablers rather than friends.

If he was in fact addicted to opiates Prince didn't need to buy from the street, and anyone who survived using dilaudid and fentanyl for 25 years (unlikely) would know that percocet would do nothing for him as his tolerance would be too high.

Someone who didn't know drugs and was in pain could easily die from an overdose of percocet, however.
