Some posters are hopeless. Voting does make a difference. The people supporting Trump and Sanders were people who were not previously politically active and are now making their voices heard.

Most Congressmen are not 1%ers but the rely on people who provide them with money AND votes.
Money is not everything. In California, Whitman and Fiorina had huge amounts of money, but were rejected big time.

It's take voters to hold their reps accountable. There are too many people who do not vote.

Been voting since I was 18, haven't seen anything change in all that time other than for the worse.  Even if Bernie gets elected (probably won't happen), what can he accomplish?  The entire congress is basically on the payola or the vast majority is.  The reason people keep voting corrupt politicians into office is because they don't take the time to educate themselves (who really has the time with both parents forced to work?) and the mass media (controlled by a few families) push the politicians that they want to be elected that will serve them.  Even if somehow you were to elect another FDR, in a few decades it would be back to the way it is today, history has proven this point.

So basically the entire system needs to be trashed and rebuilt from the ground up.
