I was diagnosed almost 5 yrs ago. I have had great response with Sprycel and Tasigna...except for the typical side effects. Ive been on Hydrocodone for almost a year. Dont judge... My quality of life has been much better. I took them as needed. Some days I wouldnt take any, some days I took 4 in one day. But I have never had any withdrawal symptoms when not taking them. I do not feel like I have any dependency to the meds. But enough rambling.... I live in Tennessee...More people die from narcotic pain meds that auto accidents here. There is new legislation to reduce all chronic pain patients from narcotic meds.. I understand the problems. But what about the ones of us that do not abuse them?  What does everyone do for pain? I have a very high pain tolerance... But lately this is kicking my butt. I had a disc replaced and a plate in my neck 6 months ago... Having RFA on my spine the next three weeks to kill some nerves. But all of that isnt enough.

Diagnosed in September 2011. Tried one year of Sprycel. Had great response. Became undetectable in a few months. Changed to Tasigna hoping for less side effects. Self medicated myself down to 20% dose and held for 3 years before becoming detectable again. It has been a journey that has helped me realize what life is about! I am all about a balanced life. I firmly agree with my decision to lower my dose. What is life if you aren't living? Mine will never be the way it was, but it is going to be as good as I can make it! Drs PRACTICE medicine, we can guide our dr to help us with a better life! Don't settle until it's acceptable to you!

You live in Tennessee and you don't know about the best pain medicine there is:

LOL Scuba!! Thats one of the kickers.. I had a urine test at least once a month. Part of the contract you sign with any accredited pain centers here states that you will never have alcohol in your system! And drs here can and are charged with murder charges if a patient overdoses while being prescribed pain meds by them!
