Nimesulide is a COX-2 inhibitor. I would not take it for ordinary pain, only for more acute pain. I would prefer naproxen (Aleve) or ibuprofin (Motrin) [unless taking Sprycel -- then I would avoid Motrin since there may be uptake interference]. Nimesulide is also harder on the liver than many regular NSAIDs. Tylenol is also hard on the liver so I avoid it.

thanks, trey. i´m using it to control the inflammation and i´m already better and i took only 2 pills. the doctor told me to take prednisolone but i did not know the interaction and started to take nimesulide. do you think it´s better to move to naproxen or prednisolone? thanks in advance.

Lucas, Hope you feel better soon. When I have a sore throat I gargle with warm water and sea salt, and it heals my sore throat. Take care.

The warm salt water approach is the best way to cure a sore throat. Also the best way to cure a sinus infection (snort it up into the sinuses).
I would not take the Nimesulide very long before switching over. I would not take the prednisone for your issue.

Snort warm salt water? That just sounds painful.
