Hi, guys!

i'm fighting a "not so cool" infection - troat and nose - and i wanna know 2 things, if it's possible:

1 - like "normal" people, does people with cml have a high wbc during an infection (my wbc was 10.960 yesterday. the padron of the lab was 10.800)?

2 - Is it ok to have my pcr and BMA next week, when i will still taking antibiotics? Does the infection or the antibiotics interfere with those test?

Thanks in advance.

Yes. With any luck they're good white cells doing their job. Yes, it should be okay. The antibiotics won't interfere. BUT, I'm not a medical professional of any kind. You really need to call your onc's office and leave a message with those questions for the oncolology/hemotology doctor.

Most of us have a normally responding immune system.  So the immune system does what it is supposed to do, making more cells when needed.

The antibiotics and illness should not affect the results significantly, so I would proceed with them.
