Hi everyone,

I was diagnosed in August 2012. My WBC was 240,000. I started on Gleevac for the first year and switched to 100mg Sprycel due to some minor side effects.

I have historically been a "slow and steady" responder as it took me about 14 months to reach CCyR and a little over 2 years to reach MMR.

Happy to say I've gotten my latest results and have now maintained PCRU for 7 months. This time around I was sure to get the draw done early in the week and had the lab ensure the sample was picked up on the same day.

7/13 - 1.062% - Switch to Sprycel

10/13 - 0.9272% - CCyR FISH

11/13 - 0.608% - switched to 6 month testing cycle by Oncologist

3/14 - 0.394%

9/14 - 0.208% - started taking meds in morning (I take a PPI at night for reflux)

4/15 - 0.000% - PCRU

11/15 - 0.000% - PCRU

Just thought I would post in case there are others out there with similar experience.

Take Care!

Hopefully those two PCRU in a row shows the steep drop from .208% to PCRU was real.

Is every 6 months a normal testing regime after a certain time? I am every 3 months.

Your results are fantastic. I hope to get there some day.

Thanks, rcase. I'm not sure, but once I reached CCyR my oncologist switched me to having a CMP/CBC every three months and a PCR test every 6 months. For me it is helpful as I'm not worrying about the PCR results every three months.

Trey, I hope so as well. I was really surprised when I saw the drop from 0.208%. I figured there must have been some processing error. This time I had the draw done on a Tuesday and made sure they agreed to send the sample for processing same day.

This latest result helps a lot but I wouldn't be shocked to see periodic blips in the future. My hope would be to maintain PCRU and then hopefully get to a dose reduction. That would be tremendous but I'll likely wait one or two more testing cycles to try..
