Clinton said today that allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices with manufacturers would be one of her top priorities.

How will other candidates respond to this?

It does seem odd that this doesn't happen already. It seems like it would be the free market way. You would not think it would be a political thing but it is.

Most Republicans support the "free market" approach of letting each insurance company negotiate separately with drug manufacturers.

On priniciple, they oppose government involvement (although they grudgingly accept Medicare, Medicaid not so much, and Obamacare not at all).  They draw the line at government negotiating drug prices.
