My name is Victor. I was diagnosed with CML about 10 weeks now and have been on Spyrcel 100 mg/daily. Since then my blood lab results have been OK except that since 2 weeks ago, my total protein test has been abnormal. Ten days ago it was 8.5 and today 8.8 (normal range 5.9-8.1). The problem seems to be with the globurin which is now 3.9. All these tests have always been normal until now. I am worried, and was wondering if anyone has encountered this situation before.

The Sprycel dosing instructions pamphlet says "Decreases in total protein, albumin, and globulins were observed."  (Could not find the exact page):

Overall such disruptions to normal levels of blood markers are usually temporary and not a concern.  But you should have your doc keep an eye on this for any potential kidney issues, even though unlikely.
