Is this sh*t beneficial or just the new pet rock?  I see the drinks all over the place... me thinks its probably bunk, but one never knows.  Opinions?

Probably only beneficial if you've wiped out your normal flora with antibiotics.  I think there is a new modern term for normal flora, but I'm from the old school.

Ive tried both tablets and a kind of yogurt with probiotics. The yogurt actually made a difference (or at least it felt like it did), but the tablets did not work well for me. (Maybe it was a bad brand)

I tried some Kombucha from Aldi's during one of their special weeks and could tell a difference but refuse to pay over $4 for a beverage. As for the pills, I'm trying them again but can't remember to take them on an empty stomach, so I usually don't.

When I was first diagnosed, I read a lot of different books and articles about healthy eating and I came to the decision that the healthy way is expensive, difficult, and regular food tastes way too good. I would be interested to know if anyone has had almagam fillings removed, juices on a regular basis, and/or tried the bone broth plan.

Am changing my answer. My husband has taken a good probiotic along with a healthy smoothie mix with several healthy add ins. He seems to be in better health, although the stress and long hours he works, undermines some of it. I had taken cheaper probiotics and didn't see a difference but haven't really tried the more expensive ones.

Tried a new brand of probiotics as my stomach has really flared up during "stomach flu season", been on and off nauseous and had diarrhea for the last 4-5 weeks.

A lot of people we know are sick now, and this has been going on since December on and off, it has been one of the worst stomach flu seasons i can remember.

So anyway, i tried taking a new brand, 3 billion "organisms" pr tablet, one tablet each day.

- Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG®)
- Lactobacillus acidophilus LA-5®
- Lactobacillus bulgaricus LBY-27®
- Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis BB-12®
- Streptococcus thermophilus STY-31®

it actually seems to be helping, i am on day 6 now, and definitely feel better than before, no nausea and no diarrhea after 3 days of taking them. There are 40 tablets in the box, so i will probably take all of them over the course of 40 days, flu season should be over by then :)

About 2 - 3 months into treatment with Tasigna, I developed IBS-like symptoms - bloated feeling immediately after eating dinner sometimes with moderate pain and always lots of gas for the next 4 - 5 hours.  Only 2 -3 times did I have actual diarrhea.

About 2 months ago, I started taking Florell (1 per day at 11:00 AM) and 1 digestive enzyme immediately before each meal (2 meals per day for me).  The digestive enzyme is Enzymedica Digest Gold with ATPro.  Within a week, the bloating and gas went away and I have has no more diarrhea.  And while I am not a regular as I was before CML and Tasigna, I am much improved.

My onc actually semi freaked when i told him this because my ALT and total bilirubin were slightly elevated around the time I started the probiotic and digestive enzyme supplements.  Latest blood test showed all normal liver tests, so it certainly hasn't hurt. Still waiting for my onc to apologize (LOL)

We've done what we've done since the 70's, which is make sure we have yogurt in the house, and make sure we eat it 2, 5 times a week.  Same as it ever was.  Not the crap they call yogurt that looks like liquid paint chips, actual greek type yogurts that have actual dairy acids and the probiotic stuff people seek in a tablet or whatever.
