I went a year with no nausea now it's been 18 months, and I get very bad nausea about once a week. It may be because of drinking wine the previous night.
Does anyone have any thoughts or solutions for this.
Thanks

It's been several years since I've been on Gleevec but I remember a short period where I had been on it for about 6-7 months and all of a sudden I developed daily nausea. The only break I had from it was when I slept and when I ate. It lasted about 1 month and then disappeared. I stopped taking it at 9 months so I don't know if it would have been a reoccuring side effect. Never really felt like vomiting, just had a low grade nausea.
Hope yours goes away, too!

I had nausea issues early on but now usually take Gleevec (400mg) with just a glass of water before bedtime, usually about 1-2 hours after eating. I also am able to take 650mg of ferrous sulfate each day with no gastric upset. Go figure...
Lucky RE: nausea, not so lucky RE: fatigue, edema, muscle cramps.

At the earliest opportunity, and whenever possible, lower your TKI dosage; TKIs are toxic drugs and the less we take longterm the better off we are going to be ... this is especially true for older adults.
In hindsight I should have started my dosage reduction two years earlier; it might have helped minimize some of the longterm cumulative toxic effects of TKIs that I am beset with.
longterm side-effects Peripheral Artery Disease - legs (it's a bitch); continuing shoulder problems, right elbow inflammation. GFR and creatinine vastly improved after stopping Gleevec.
Cumulative Gleevec dosage estimated at 830 grams
Taking Gleevec 400mg an hour after my largest meal of the day helped eliminate the nausea that Gleevec is notorious for.
