Does anyone else on sprycel have cystic zits all over random parts of their body? Hubby woke up a couple days ago with a few and more keep popping up. What can we do about it?

Yep.  I have been taking Sprycel for about four years and have had the "zits" all over the entire four years.  They don't itch or cause any other problems - they are just there.

I wouldn't say "all over" but I have noticed that I'll get one at a time generally in odd places. On my neck. Collarbone. The back of one thigh. Mine generally fade in a few days.

Yes, I've had some skin issues on Sprycel. I would recommend that he see a dermatologist as it can manifest in different ways. A dermatologist would be able to provide a clear diagnosis and recommend something.

I have itch and pimples that come and go. They are here, there and everywhere.  I use anti-acne meds on my face to dry them up if they are big ones. Sometimes I have a bunch, sometimes a few.

Am on Sprycel, 100 mgs since 1/14/14.

I have had the same issue with other TKIs, including the one I am on now, Iclusig. The big difference, however, is that I finally went to see a dermatologist who specializes in cancer patients. I was immediately placed on Zenatane (accutane) and within months, the cystic/nodular acne disappeared. Granted, this form of treatment isn't for everyone (especially women who are pregnant or plan to become pregnant), but it works for me.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I guess he'll just have to deal with it. He also has crohns disease, so adding more medications are definitely not an option at this point. We see his doctor tomorrow, so hopefully he can tell us if there is something topical that works well

Saw the onc yesterday, said the cystic acne is due to his white cells being a little low. He said once his normal wbc start replacing themselves, his counts will go back up to normal and cysts should go away. If numbers look good in 2 weeks, he gets to go to monthly checkups instead of every 2 weeks!

shaynalee, that is great, it will be much easier on you and him once a month. At dx I think I went every 2 weeks for a couple months and then monthly, once I got to the six month mark, I only had to go every three months.

Dear Billie,

That's a great idea. When my pcr went to .0455 at 15 mos from diagnosis, I celebrated with ruby port, smoked salmon, and a few oysters and clams on the half shell. I even threw in some seedless red grapes. Not sure why, but they were yummy.

And guess what, no crop of pimples showed up!!!
