I had the sprycel headaches when I first went on it four years ago and they hung around for about six months (not bad just annoying), the headaches went away until about eight months ago and they started up again almost like migraines. Anybody else getting recurring headaches on Sprycel after all this time?

Nuff said I've had a bad one for 2 days now. I'm only taking an occasional tylonal because my stomache is nauseated also.                              Thanks Billie

I had those headaches on and off throughout Sprycel. Not as bad as those railroad spikes you introduced me too, but nagging and annoying enough to make me uncomfortable. There was no rhyme or reason I could track for when they would assault me. Hope yours end soon

I just posted this on Kitty's post. Seems like we are all suffering from headaches...

Have you seen a Neurologist? I was experiencing awful headaches on 300 mg Tasigna. I believe the headaches were side effects. Neurolgist ordered an MRI to rule out anything bad. Thank God he didn't find anything. He prescribed Divalproex which I now take daily with my Tasigna and my headaches are so much better than they were. See a Neurologist to get help. Good luck.

Hi Damer,

Thanks for the advice, I finally got some alleve today and guess what no headache, I didn;t even need to take one pill. If they don't let up I'll take your advice but I'm positive a neuro won't see anything in my head but air. I started Sprycel four years ago and I had the typical sprycel headaches for a while but I went about three years without any and they just started a few months ago. Once I can get outside I'm sure it will help I remember fresh air that didn't freeze your lungs. I dimmed the light on my computer too maybe that will help a bit.  Thanks Billie

Yeah mine us still going. And now my eye sockets hurt. I'm guessing too the change of weather from winter to spring? Well here in New Jersey we are just starting to see green grass. I've never had allergies but as I get older and with sprycel my immune system is getting weaker. I'm also fighting a lingering cold for a month. If the headaches continue I'm defenitely going to see a neurologist. Even if they don't find anything. It's gives me a piece of mind. I can't wait to see my new Onc! Maybe he'll agree and change my meds. Maybe it will help with all these yucky side effects! Feel better Billie!

My right eye has been acting weird for about 4 months It was like when a contact lens was out of place, but I don't wear contacts anymore but I had cataract surgery about 5 years ago and I thought maybe the lens implant came loose or something, also I was getting these strange zig-zag  flashes in my peripheral vision and a floater that was driving me nuts- I kept hitting myself in the head because it seemed like a fruit fly buzzing around my head I slapped myself silly. I finally went to the eye doc yesterday and it turns out I have painless migraines, not all of them are painless though and that's why my eye is acting goofy and I get the headaches. It's quite common I guess, he said medicine or stress or other things they don't know about can cause them. When I get the sparkle things in my eye I should take a couple tylonal. Sometimes you get a migraine and sometimes you don"t. Crazy isn't it, while he was examining my eye he saw the floater I told him to suck it out I guess they don't do that. So I'm really relieved that it's not anything serious,I just have to learn to live with it, so I guess I'll be going around hitting myself in the head for the rest of my life. In 1993 I had tias for 5 months and ignored them I was very close to having a stroke, but this is totally different thank God. He also told me to put eye drops in my eyes 2xdaily, tkis can really dry your eyes out.  I hope this helps explain another side-effect that we don't have to panic about but definitely see an eye doctor right away.          Billie

I have them also, last year I had to go to eye surgeon because I was having this total black out of my left eye, usually in the evening but I had no sight for a few minutes.  When I called the clinic they got me in immediately.  After the testing they told me I was having painless migraines.  I figure as long as they are painless I can live with that.

I had my eyes tested last month, I have to go back in because my pressures are raising.  Glaucoma is in my family.  I have to go in May and have it checked again.  I have to look at the side effects from the PH meds, might be related to that.

Glad you are ok.  :)

It's such a relief to finally find out what it is. I'm not going blind Yippee!!

Pam I didn't know you had eye problems, totally blackout of the left eye doesn't sound like what I have, but there probably are all kinds of symptoms besides what I have. Good Lord Girl we are falling apart, we need some wine and super glue and duct tape to start putting all our places back together. Damn that gravity!!

My husband has cml, I joined the forum for info because he is terrible at taking care of himself, lol. He got the headaches at first also, and we manage his with magnesium and b2 taken every morning. I have managed my own migraines, which are an unexplained family thing that is often triggered by stress, that way for years. Also, a hot compress on the back of your neck with an ice pack on your forehead will drain the pressure. Hope this helps! :)

Thanks shaynalee, I always use ice on my forehead but I never thought about using heat on my neck also, it makes sense though because the heat will relax the neck muscles, I'll try this real soon because I've had another headache for two days and this one wasn't painless. I hope your hubby is doing okay. Make sure you take care of yourself too.   Billie
