You can check for interactions:

For Sprycel and Simvastatin, the problem is the Simvastatin effects are enhanced, like taking extra dosage.
Also, you may find that Sprycel lowers your cholesterol by itself. Others here have experienced this. You might consider asking your doc if you can try just taking the Sprycel for a while.

I developed rhabdomyolysis due to interactions between Zocor (simvastatin) and a blood pressure drug. That landed me in the hospital for 5 days while they flushed it out of my system. Now I take Crestor (rosuvastatin Ca) on weekdays, and skip it on weekends to give my bad self a break. I've been following that schedule for 10 years without any more problems, even on the Gleevec..
Dx: Sudden severe anemia detected 07/2011, followed by WBC spike. CML Dx 02/2012.
Rx: 03/2012-Gleevec400. Reduced 02/2013 to Gleevec300 due to side effects (low blood counts).
Response: PCR-Und within 7 mo. on G400. Maintained MMR4-MMR4.5 on G300. PCR-Und since 02/2016.

I stopped taking Lipitor 40 mg about a week ago because I thought it might be causing my rls now I'm not to sure if that's my problem or not I've been on L for about 10 years, my rls is better but I still have it. I haven't talked to doc about it yet. Years ago I asked him about simvastatin and he said no.
AL I just remembered something I take .01 mg of clonidine 2x a day for my bp and last summer I was put on bystolic 5 mg a day also for bp, I wonder if those meds are causing my rls. I take Plavix and a full strength aspirin a day also.I've been on them for about 10 years also. I never had bp problems before I went on Sprycel my bp use to always run low.
Any feedback would be appreciated! Billie

Lisa, I started on Gleevac and I'm much happier on Sprycel even though I had to go through what you are going through now!

Sprycel 50 / atorvastatin 10 worked for me. Only problem was the effusions caused by Sprycel.

Hannibellemo,
Are you still taking the generic lipitor? And do you take them many hours apart?

Just saw this post. Yes, I take Sprycel around 8 a.m. and atorvastatin about 12 hours later.
