I am so sorry this has been such a scary ride for you MaryB. Hope the new lower dose does the trick. I'm in the pits today too. Tried working my usual 9 hour shift but completely wiped out next day. My pcp told me it was too soon to do that so I'm back on 4 hr shifts. I can't believe the fatigue. It doesn't help that onc not really sympathetic. Says most people work normal schedule on TKI. My pcp and onc nurse practitioner are supportive though. It actually helps me that Mary's dr told her a time frame to feeling better once on TKI. Gives me hope that I'll be better in a year. It doesn't help a lot that today I found out rent going up by $70. Grrrr

Hello all Well I'm still off the bosutinib. While off my cardio, "pulmonary htn" resolved. My dr is hesitant at trying Bosutinib again. He mentioned Gleevec. I'm not sur about it. Any info on experiences with Gleevec would be helpful. Are there less cardio issues. Worried that my Dr may be leaning towards Steemcell hope everyone is doing well. Stay strong

I don't know if this helps your situation, but when I have to take the TKI again it will be Tasigna.  They ruled out Gleevec immediately, Sprycel and Bosulif of course are out, so Cleveland said the only one they would feel comfortable trying is Tasigna.

I have been going through this for over a year now and no one has ever mentioned transplant.  I wouldn't be to worried about that yet.  What I was told is we would start with the Tasigna, if that did not work then we would look at another TKI. If nothing else they would pick the drug(s) I could maybe tolerate and go for the lowest dose that would keep me either undetectable or close to it.

In essence, if all else fails they would try low doses of the other TKI's and monitor me closely I guess.

Pam

Hi Darlene,

There are a few side effects with Gleevec, but I found it a good drug for me. :)
