How long will it take my body to adjust? This is very discouraging. I am taking ibuprofen, but it's not helping much.
Why the leg/hip pain? I know these are the largest bones in the body where a lot of the marrow is. Is this just the tki doing its job?

These are side effects of the drug and does not indicate much except that the drug is being absorbed from the alimentary canal, but during the first couple weeks there is enormous cell turnover as leukemic cells die in very large numbers, which can cause discomfort. Stay well hydrated during this period to flush out the resulting urea.
The intense leg pain will likely last a month or two, and after that it should decrease or maybe go away. Over time most side effects go away as the body adjusts, but most of us still end up with a couple side effects over the longer term, even if at reduced levels.
