Ever since diagnosis in July of last year, I consistently have high Eosinophils but PCR numbers continue to drop. In reading some things online ( I know, I shouldn't), high eosinophils could contribute to a high SOKAL score and poorer prognosis. Any input? All other absolute counts remain in the normal range.

   3 months    EOSINOPHIL ABSOLUTE COUNT               0.50 H  K/uL

   6 months    EOSINOPHIL ABSOLUTE COUNT               0.40    K/uL

     9 months      EOSINOPHIL ABSOLUTE COUNT               0.42 H  K/uL

   12 months   EOSINOPHIL ABSOLUTE COUNT               0.71 H  K/uL

  15 months    EOSINOPHIL ABSOLUTE COUNT               0.45 H  K/uL

The upper limit of "normal", which is a relative term, is .45 so you are normal at this point, and other times also.  Three of the last four were normal, so it appears you have spikes in EOS at certain times, maybe during certain high allergen levels in your area.  Smokers also have higher EOS.  The fact that your EOS count goes in and out of normal while you also show good CML drug response appears to show it is unrelated to the CML, but you should ask a PCP doc for advice about your EOS levels.

My Doc said the same high eos is because of allergies...

Different leukemia but my Eos have run above normal traditionally.  I have seasonal allergies, allergies to animals as well as asthma. Dr figures my baseline is higher than normal given how my FISH results have been negative.
