I am sure this has been discussed before but could not find anything using search. I am taking Tasigna at 6:30am and 6:30pm. We usually eat late so not too bad but getting up early is no fun. We can't seem to find a schedule that works well for us. It is further complicated because I take pepcid 2 hours after the Tasigna twice a day.

I would not be so concerned with exactly 12 hour intervals.  The dosing instructions say "approximately 12 hours".  These things are not so scientific, and the split dosage is due to potential side effects, not treating the CML.  Tasigna stays in the body for days after taking it, although levels certainly decline.  So overall you could change the interval to at least 11/13.

I take mine anywhere from 10-14 hours apart.  The risk is getting too much in your system (PT prolongation) , but I was told that 10 hours was fine.  I would check into the pepcid though - my Onc said that I was just to take tums/rolaids and to NOT take pepcid-type drugs.

My schedule is okay, I take them around 10 AM (dont eat breakfast) and again around 10 PM, but like I said - I dont worry if I take it anywhere between 8-14 hours apart.  As long as you are taking both doses, you are still doing what needs to get done.

Unfortunately I have a horrible case of GERD. I usually take a proton pump inhibitor but I can't take that with Tasignia. I take the Pepcid 2 hours after the Tasignia and so far the doctor is happy with my absorption. I have had to change my diet drastically to make the two Pepcids work.

That sucks about the GERD.  Nothing worse.  And nothing you do about diet helps?  I only get it when I combine too much beer with too much grease, but its the absolute worst.  Nothing like gaggin on firey bile in the middle of the night
