Hello,

I am three years on Tasigna and am having a problem with my body overheating. It happens mostly in the middle of the night but occasionally during daytime. I do not sweat when it happens but my body feels like it will spontaneously combust! As a matter of fact I do not sweat at all anymore, just overheat. Does anyone else experience this? Is it from the med or should I have my doc investigate other causes?

Thanks and good health to all!
Gina

I actually do feel like this and I take Sprycel. I do perspire but I don't tolerate heat well at all. I never have really but it is much worse now.

I remember reading in the LLS literature I was given on CML that heat intolerance was a symptom but I don't think this is caused by CML, especially when it's well controlled.

I didn't experience this during the 9 months I was on Gleevec but I noticed it on the first really warm day with Sprycel, I was in a convertible and I started feeling ill from the heat.

I think it's the drugs.

These are usually hormone related, and the thyroid can be impacted by TKI drugs.  You may want to have a thyroid function test done.

An old thread but figured I would bring it back. I just had my monthly blood test and my thyroid was high or hyper. I have only been on Tasigna for 4 months but looks like I may have to switch drugs. Has any one else had the TKI mess with the thyroid? I understand there is medication to calm it down, is that an option with Tasigna? I hate to stop Tasigna. My last PCR was 0.06.

I am on Gleevec 400mg I did not have my thyroid checked but I do get very hot in the night. Its like a hot flush. I used to get night sweats before diagnosis but I don't have them anymore just these flushes with no sweating. Thanks for sharing
