Hello Everyone

I know this isn't something I wanted to ask but I was hoping someone may have also notice the link. I just started Gleevec 4 weeks ago and It has worked with some great result. My WBC have gone down from 218 to 7 in four weeks, But I have noticed that some morning after I pee it smells like eggs. It does always smell like that infact this is only the third day I noticed it.  I did have a cup of Mean green yesterday , which is a juice made up of Kell, spinach , lemon, and cucumber but i am not sure if this could cause it as well.

Probably kale pee.  High in sulfur.  It can also be higher protein levels, which break down into ammonia.  But if you have pain, check with your doc about a UTI infection.

Although the TKIs don't directly cause "stinky pee syndrome", I think they can enhance smell changes and make them stronger.  I have noticed that.

TKIs can also cause changes in sugar metabolism.  As long as your pee isn't sweet, then it's probably OK.  Taste it if you want.  I wouldn't.

My pee does not smell any different than it used to, but it does make a lot of bubbles especially in the morning. I take Sprycel 100.

Can't believe I'm joining this thread.  I have the bubbles and stronger odor as well.  Sprycel does do some weird things. . .

Is it bubbly or foamy?  Pee-ologists differentiate between these two.

Stinky bubbly foamy pee syndrome.

Bubbles, not foam. . .maybe I'm drinking too much bubbly while I'm eating  my Cheetos. . .

Perhaps if I drank beer, it would be foamy.

You also need to watch out for potentially hazardous TKI / Asparagus interactions...

Phil - please elaborate on the "potentially hazardous TKI/Asparagus interactions" comment.  I know asparagus causes nasty urine odor, but not aware of a TKI interaction.

What a way to start the morning...

I believe Phil means it causes sharts.  Will this lead to a re-do of the sharts discussions?

My onc said one of the TKI's gave a lot (most) of the users the diahreea?  Which one is that?

Glad Im not on it.  Tasigna has pretty much now clear cut my legs of any hair and it seems to be moving northwards.  As long as my eyebrows stay, I dont mind getting slippery like a newborn seal. ;)

I'm remembering Phil's comments about shark attacks vs. shart attacks.

Trey, I hope it will. A frank discussion of bodily functions gone awry due to our medications is so cathartic!

Gleevec has caused a strong body smell for me and for poop, I've gotten used to it, no urine odor, I would check for UTI.

Diagnosed 3/2014 WBC 28 Non detectable within 3 monthsGleevec 400 mg 5/2014 one hour after dinner really improves nausea300 mg 12/15/2016200 mg and 300 mg Gleevec 2/25/2017 (after 3 years on Gleevec) For last four months taking 300 mg per day. Last CMC showed liver enzymes elevated, went to a good Naturopath and he recommended 4 Tumeric, 10,000 mg Vitamen D, and 3 milk thistle (silymarin) daily. Also use One<p>Day Detox Dandeloin tea, and Nettle Tea and a slice of ginger every day...in two months liver tests were below normal.Janis

That would definitely be the Gleevec and he left out the word 'explosive'.  New patients should always be given crash helmets in case they hit their head on the bathroom ceiling.  Unfortunatley the side effects of the newer drugs seem to have much less scope for comedy (unless anone knows a good pleural effusion joke).  I too miss the good old days of the adventures of Shart Man.  I can't remember who came up with the line 'Coming out soon on BVD'

I have bubbles too!  I've often thought it looks like man pee (done from a farther distance)-- I'm female.  The color reminds me of liquid lemon Jello.  My TKI is Tasigna.

I'm getting that newborn baby skin myself.  It took 10-11 months to happen.  Since we're talking about weird TKI bodily changes.... I've had a few areas of pigmentation show up that look like flat moles with a little darker spot in the center.  Those are on my legs and I have a pale spot that is similar on the palm of my hand.
