Vitamin D2 and Energy Level

My annual physical showed very low vitamin D2 (<4 I believe, don't recall the units or basis of measurement).  Regular vitamin D levels were ok.  Have been on 50,000 units of D2 delivered as one pill once every two weeks for just over two months now. 

It may be completely in my head, or coincidental with some other change, but I swear my energy level has been much higher since taking these.  Don't know if there is any medical basis for this, but thought I'd pass it on since low energy/fatigue is such a normal occurrence for us.
