Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has experienced night sweats off and on during time since dx.  I'm almost six years into CML journey, most of that time on 50mg Sprycel with fabulous results consistently.  Off and on I have had night sweats, but lately they've become more frequent and more severe.  Any thoughts from anyone?

Thanks,

JK

I had night sweats from the Gleevec. Initially I thought I must be starting menopause, but they've disappeared now I'm off the Gleevec.

I have been through menopause, but have experienced renewed intermittent night sweats from both Gleevec and Tasigna.  It seems to have no correlation to disease activity in me (although it freaked me out at first).

Me too... I think its a normal thing. I woke up just last night drenched....I have been on my journey for 2 1/2 years now

Diagnosed in September 2011. Tried one year of Sprycel. Had great response. Became undetectable in a few months. Changed to Tasigna hoping for less side effects. Self medicated myself down to 20% dose and held for 3 years before becoming detectable again. It has been a journey that has helped me realize what life is about! I am all about a balanced life. I firmly agree with my decision to lower my dose. What is life if you aren't living? Mine will never be the way it was, but it is going to be as good as I can make it! Drs PRACTICE medicine, we can guide our dr to help us with a better life! Don't settle until it's acceptable to you!

Yup - I will go several months without, then suddenly I'll have night sweats a few nights in a row, then it goes away again.  Just started my 4th year on Gleevec 400mg and am MMR+ response ...

I'd say that it is only part of a wider issue - Glivec basically knackers your internal thermostat.  Lots of night sweats, but lots of freezing your nadgers off too.  You get used to it eventually.

Sometimes I am freezing in bed and out of bed! Chills. When I am in bed the bed covers feel very heavy, but warm. God Bless Dr. Drucker for giving us such a wonderful med.

It is possibly related to TKI drug interference with adrenal and thyroid gland function, which affects how the body deals with internal temperature.  I have posted a separate discussion about this.

I can't say regarding Sprycel.

I used to get occasional night sweats while on Gleevac, even after a year of being dx. Since being on Tasigna they are all but gone.

I remember they can be a bit unnerving since they were present before being diagnosed. I remember wondering if this was my CML gaining ground on me.
