What's the difference between PCR results from blood and marrow?

December results on blood sample was .14

February results on marrow was .22 and now I'm freaking out.

dx in June 2013 started on meds July 31st.

July was >100%

Nov was .58% in blood

Dec was .14% in blood

Latest was .22% in marrow

Bone marrow diagnosis shows "No morphologic support of chronic myeloid leukemia" but PCR shows increase from .14% to .22%.

Hi,

Your response is very similar to mine.  My PCR dropped very fast in the first four months to near MMR (PCR=.1%). For the following 12 months, it bounced between .1% to .3%.  It then resumed downward trend for the next 6 months to around .04% now,  My understanding from this board is that fast drop in PCR followed by plateau is quite normal.  Besides, PCR test is very sensitive but not that accurate.  .14% and .22% are in the range of test errors.

I think you have a very good response and need not to worry too much.

Since you are CCyR there is no concern unless the PCR increases more significantly than that.  PCRs often vary from one to the next.  The test is not as accurate as all those decimal places might try to indicate.
