Welcome to the board Adela.  The first few months are the worst as your body comes to terms with the drugs and your mind comes to term with the disease, but it does get better.  If you were diagnosed in Chronic phase then the odds really are excellent that you will outlive the disease and be able to get on with the more important things in life like enjoying cheese-flavoured snacks.

Diagnosed 11 May 2011 (100% FiSH, 155% PCR)

with b2a2 BCR-ABL fusion transcript coding for the 210kDa BCR-ABL protein

 

Sprycel: 20 mg per day - taken at lights out with Quercetin and/or Magnesium Taurate

6-8 grams Curcumin C3 complex.

 

2015 PCR: < 0.01% (M.D. Anderson scale)

2016 PCR: < 0.01% (M.D. Anderson scale) 

March        2017 PCR:     0.01% (M.D. Anderson scale)

June          2017 PCR:     "undetected"

September 2017 PCR:     "undetected"

Hi, thank you for the fast reply. I take 400 mg. of Imatinib. Will I loose my hair?

No, you will not lose your hair.  This is not chemotherapy.  There are various side effects which may for some  include thinning of hair.

Hi Adela,

I didn't lose any hair on Gleevec, the only thing I think happened to me was it slowed the growth a bit. On the bright side it saved me a bit of money in hair cuts.
