Hi everyone,

I was curious to know if anyone has ever switched back to Gleevac after trying one of the other TKIs.

I was on Gleevac for about a year and decided to try Sprycel mainly due to some abdominal issues. Overall the issues were pretty tolerable and didn't impact me too much but wanted to give Sprycel a try to see if the issues would go away and if I might respond better to Sprycel. WIth Sprycel I notice that I have essentially the same abdominal issues but also have a persistent rash and occasionally get chest pains as well.

My last PCR on Gleevac was 1.06% and after 5 months on Sprycel I'm down to 0.5%.

Is there generally any issue with switching back provided that the PCR continues to trend downward? Would this in any way give the disease an advantage or potentially contribute to mutations?

Thank you,

Switching back is fine.  It could even hit the leukemia harder switching back and forth (doubtful, but you never know).
