Pat, next week will be my 5 years ago... Congratulations on still being here on this board and

also on your 40th anniversary.

I hope the weather in the Midwest lightens up bit for the rest of the winter.  Thanksgiving

here in Atlanta was the coldest on record, at least the low of 21 degrees that morning.

Argentina is looking good now.

Nice.

Which was more significant, the 40 years or the 5 years?

Hi Pat:  Happy Anniversary, and for your 5 years of beating CML.  I forgot all about my Cancerversary till I read your post.

Dec. 12th makes it 15 years for me since I was diagnosed.  Its a day we never forget no matter how well we are doing.

Hope you had a great time getting away.  That was great, plus you had so much to celebrate.

Susan

Pat. . .Congratulations!!  I'm sure you had a great time in Cabo. . .what a wonderful way to celebrate 40 years!  I'm coming up on 5 years since cml, but only 21 of marital bliss.  You've got me beat!

You have been such a wonderful source of information and conversation on this forum.

All the best!

Marnie

(P.S.  It's finally warming up in Denver, so hopefully our milder weather will be moving your way).

Hi Pat,

Congratulations on both anniversarys! What a great way to celebrate, but you forgot to pick me up, I'm only 5 miles from the erie airport.

Marnie, we sure could use some warm weather here too, and a lot less snow

That's kind of like a "what came first, the chicken or the egg?" question. Obviously, to me, the 40 years of marriage is most important, but without the 5 years of TKIs, it might have been less (and, I would have missed Cabo)!

Thanks, Billie! I had a margarita in everyone's honor - seriously, only one. But, I did have a few glasses of wine, have to save the liver for my TKIs!

Simone,

I'll be thinking of you this coming week! Got home to near zero temps and a white knuckle drive down I-35 from Mpls. (Lots of semis and cars in the ditches). Home safe and sound! Wonderful time and memories.

Argentina would be a wonderful trip! Are you considering it?

I must send you a photo of Phoebe, did I tell you about my little PBGV? The "cats" hate her; well Rosie hates her, Rags tolerates her.

Hope all is well and have a glass of wine (or two) to celebrate next week.

Susan,

I'm not surprised you forgot your own cancerversary! I'm sure your mind is on your Mom, right now. Hope she is doing ok (you, too!)

Thanks for the well wishes!

Strange side effects! Every day I still get flushes where my ears, face and upper arms turn bright red and very hot! I'm certain it will pass at some point and be replaced with an equally appealling side effect

I THOUGHT that looked like you waving out the window, but the plane was far enough away that I couldn't quite make out if it was you, or just some crazy lady.  I waved back just in case, and then the people on the ground thought that I was the crazy lady!

One more week of school and then we're driving out to Boise for Christmas.  Driving across Wyoming in the winter. . .NOT the same as a trip to Cabo San Lucas.

AlexaMay. . .I still get the flushed, hot face, but not as often as before.  I have moved on to a really awesome rash all over my scalp and in my ears.  Since cutting my dosage, the head rash is better.  My head isn't quite so lumpy.  The ears are still a problem.  Good luck.  Wouldn't it be nice if the side effects were things like bigger bosom or the perfect weight loss.

Thank You So Much Pat:  I just jump on and off here right now in between all the things I am trying to take care of.

I am still trying to get a hold of the doctor to find out what stage of CML she is in.

It has been absolutely crazy trying to be sure I have all my ducks in a row with her things as well as mine.

Gary is finally done with his Chemo for his Bladder Cancer, but now he has to get the periodic Cystoscopy for monitoring him.

You wonder where you get all your energy to do the things you need to do.

I just had my 43rd Wedding Anniversary in October, and we never get to do anything.  Maybe next year????

Susan
