Since CML is slow growing, would these changes affect us?

My two cents worth - though ours is slow in the chronic phase, life expectancy was once only 3-7 years after the diagnosis of CML was determined, if left untreated.

The article appears to be talking about cancers that can be left untreated.

Blood cells are the fastest "growing" (most often dividing & shortest life cycle) cells in the body.
