Hi,

Was wondering if I could get a little help with this?

I switched from Gleevac to Tasigna (600mg per day)on march 27th and lately this has been slightly elevated. The only reason I know is I had some stomach pain last week and went and had these checked. The pain is completely gone and I feel fine but the number is still a little high. Amylase is also fine (52).

5/6  Lipase, Serum  63 (scale 0 - 59)

5/8  Lipase,    "       72 (scale 0 - 59)

Should I be concerned or is this normal when starting on Tasigna?

Thanks,

Clifff

When starting Tasigna, my lipase went up slightly like yours at first.  After the first two weeks it settled down into the normal range.  My Onc said that was common upon beginning Tasigna and not concerning as long as it leveled out and I was feeling fine (no severe abdominal pain/vomiting).

HI:  I am not on Tasigna, but I do know that if your Amylase or Lipase Enzymes are elevated then there is stress on the Pancreas.  Your doctor would just watch your next blood test to see if you balance out, and if not he might change your dose of the Tasigna.

Cliff,

I am on Tasigna 600mg since diagnosed about 13 month ago.  I have my Lipase checked by my primary care doctor at 6 and 12 month.  Both readings are 60 (normal range is 6-51 on the test sheet).  Doc told me that it is not a concern even though slightly elevated.  I don't have any abdominal pain.

My Onc does not even check Lipase.
