Hi,

I'm going to be making the switch to Tasigna from Gleevac in a few weeks. I have been on Gleevac since DX in July 2011. Started with 400mg and eventually went to 600mg. Results are ok but not great.

My doc at Mayo wants me to go to 400 twice a day Tasigna. I just saw Dr./ Druker and he said 300 twice a day. Druker said 300 twice a day is 30 times more potent than Gleevac 600mg a day.

I would like to go lower if possible. Can't get a better opinion than Dr. Druker as far as I know.

Just curious what you all think, especially if you were in my shoes at some point?

here are my results since dx...

3 months 53% International /20% Mayo

6 months 6.1 Int. /2.3 Mayo

7 months 2.9 Int. /1.1 Mayo

9 months 3.7 Int. /1.4 Mayo

11 months 4.5 Int/1.7 Mayo

Upped to 600 Gleevac

12months CCyr Bone marrow results.

14 months 2.1% Int. /.8 Mayo

16 months 1.3& Int. /.5 Mayo

18-19  months 1.6& Int / .6 Mayo

Thanks for the help!

Studies have concluded that 600mg Tasigna daily is as effective as 800mg daily.  And side effects are reduced.  I would do 600mg.

what Trey said - 600mg is the standard dose for Tasigna.
