I had some kind of stomach bug this past tuesday, could not eat only struggle to get down a struedel so that I could take my meds, could only sip a one whole cup of 7 UP the entire day, had diarheaa, throwing up felt lousy could not stand to smell food or see it. The next day I saw on the internet and the newspaper about a stomach bug going around the united states and other countries.

That sounds like an awful dose! Hope you're feeling much better now. We've had some really cold frosty weather here for the last few days and i think it definitely helps get rid of some of those doses going or maybe that's just an old myth i've heard!
Best Wishes

Hi Marie: I hope your feeling better. There was something going around regarding a stomach virus, along with the bad outbreak of the FLU. Try to eat light like soup, and Ginger Ale always helped me more than 7 UP or even Hot Tea gave me relief when I would get something like that.
Take Care

The flu shot will not protect you against the viruses that cause acute gastroenteritis (vomiting and diarrhea). The flu shot protects against a couple of strains of influenza, respiratory viruses. "Stomach flu" is caused by viruses like the norovirus, which is what "Winter Vomiting Disease" is referring to.

Here in Belgium we ve got an stomach flue epidemia. My husband Tom, got it on a wedding last saturday and it hit him quite hard, he s still recovering and cannot eat very well. I ve got it too, but for me it s much milder.
I m considering a flue shot, gotta ask the dr about it.
Anyway, I can t wait for the spring

Glad your feeling better. My daughter just called me to tell me she has it now. She said its so bad that she was running a fever. She said she had to hold a bucket on her lap to vomit well sitting on the toilet with the Diarrhea. She said its easing up, but like you feels very weak from it. I hope this thing goes away soon, and does not turn into a epidemic.
We are getting some bitter cold weather these past few weeks, but does it really kill off all these germs?

Hi Susan,
I hope your daughter is feeling better. You too! I get nauseated easily ( probably because of my meds) but I always have a 3 lb coffee can in my car and in the bathroom. Memorys from my 3 years on Gleevac. I do much better on the Sprycel, but I still carry my coffee cans Just in case. Take Care Billie
