Is anyone here experiencing any taste disturbances or general mouth numbness while taking TKIs, most notably Gleevec?

I go though periods in which my ability to taste is reduced to about 10-20% of normal, and my mouth is quite numb during these times.  A metallic, bloody taste is sometimes present.  It's mostly just an annoyance, really.

Hi Joe,

I've had the metallic taste in my mouth, though haven't really noticed it now I'm on 300mg. On the plus side for me, all red wine tasted very acidic to me prior to Gleevec, but I can now have the occasional glass without it tasting like vinegar.

Things definitely taste weird to me sometimes, often to the point where I can't eat them, yuck.

Diagnosed 9 June 2011, Glivec 400mg June 2011-July 2017, Tasigna 600mg July 2017-present (switched due to intolerable side effects, and desire for future cessation attempt).

Commenced monthly testing when MR4.0 lost during 2012.

I get the metallic taste occasionally.  And sometimes my mouth is suddenly very dry like the moisture's been sucked out by a vacuum.  But I don't think I've ever had numbness.  In the beginning I felt like the back of my tongue would swell up, but I don't get that anymore.
