Ever since I got to CHR on Gleevec my WBC has sat in the low 4 range, it only jumped up once or twice when I had gotten sick, but for the most part it was stable low 4 range, I think right before I changed it had gotten up to about 5.  My first CBC after 1 week on Sprycel (and 10 days off Gleevec) my WBC was 6.2.  My second CBC after 2 weeks on Sprycel has WBC at 8.9.

WBC 8.9

RBC 4.24

HGB 13.2

HCT 38

MCV 90

MCH 31.2

MCHC 34.8

Platelets 258 (last week 217 - historically around 160 on Gleevec)

ANC is 6.3 (last week was 3.8)

NEUTROPHILS 71%

LYMPH 19.8%

MONO 3.8%

BASO 0.5%

LUC 1.3%

All in all these numbers are all normal, but it just feels strange to see them climbing when they have been low for a long time.  I am assuming I am fighting something off.  I don't feel 100%, besides the tightness in the chest from flying which dr feels was GI related and not lung related, I also have a bit of a headache today and just feel a little "flu'ish".  I have no temp.

I feel like I just go from one worry to the next, which mostly says something about me more than it does my situations.

I guess the real answer will come next week if WBC continues to climb.

Hi Lucky,

;My WBC goes up and down within the normal range on S.  As do most of my other numbers.  I hit some highs on the total CBC stuff but the next one is normal.  I think it is ok, but certainly check with your doc.

I always feel slightly crappy.  Sometimes worse than others.  Apparently some of us are just extremely sensitive to this stuff.

Sigh.

Could just be the drug break.  But also could be related to the body reacting to the drug change and trying to figure out what to do about it.  Unlikely anything related to CML itself.
