Hi I have been following this board since I was diagnosed a little over a year ago and can truly say that it has been very helpful and informative in giving me some hope over the last year. Has anyone had any experience with CML and gout? More specifically while on Tasigna has anyone been treated for Gout and if so during acute attacks what medications were prescribed? My onc feels that the normal course of treatment will interact negetively with the Tasigna i take and therefore I am somewhat limited in treatment. Can anyone share some insight on their experience?

While on Tasigna I had some gout flare-ups and always was prescribed allopurinol without any problems.

I ran the two meds on the interaction checker at drugs.com and they didn't show any interaction at all. Maybe there is another reason your dr. is reluctant to prescribe anything.
