Billie,  Praying for the best.  I will light a candle for u and Ron on Sunday.  If he gets any worse, I would just bring him into the ER, they'll do a full work up there. Shar (pronounce share)

Billie,

I can understand the fear and worry you must be feeling now.  I hope you get some answers at the doctor appt and won't have to go through too many more days of worrying and not knowing. I've no idea what those numbers could mean, so can't help there. I guess the best advice I can give you is to try to manage the anxiety until then. Prayer almost always works for me.

It's amazing how it helps sometimes. We lost our cat for a few days this week. We had no idea where she was, if she was in house or if she got out.  Our neighbor lost her cat the same week, and we had a dreadful feeling it must have been a coyote. So I went to bed last night very sad, and prayed to God to help,us find her, to bring her home to us. About 15 min later, my dd and dh burst into the bedroom with her. She HAD gotten outside and finally worked up enough nerve to approach the house and start meowing once we turned out the downstairs lights.

Anyway, I'm hoping for a good conclusion for you and Ron, too. And if there IS a problem, I trust in God to get you through it.

Hugs,

Traci

My hubby had some suspicious lab results, so the PCP sent him to a hem/onc at the cancer center I go to, where he had some additional tests. We were on pins & needles till the results came in & he talked to the specialist. Turns out he has a genetic clotting abnormality - watchful waiting is prescribed, but he has to be cautious when flying & use blood thinners on long trips.  The waiting definitely took it's toll on us, & I completely empathize with your angst. Keep your chin up - not knowing is the worst part.  The healing comes next!

Dx: Sudden severe anemia detected 07/2011, followed by WBC spike. CML Dx 02/2012.

Rx: 03/2012-Gleevec400.  Reduced 02/2013 to Gleevec300 due to side effects (low blood counts).

Response: PCR-Und within 7 mo. on G400. Maintained MMR4-MMR4.5 on G300. PCR-Und since 02/2016.

Hi Billie,

I'm praying for you and Ron and hoping this turns out to be an easily solved problem. I know that it is very easy to jump to the worst conclusion but the odds are he will be fine. This will be a very hard week for you and Ron but please know that we are all here for you, day and night. You are in the group's thoughts and prayers, you are not alone. If you need me please email me privately and I will do whatever I can to help you through this difficult time.

Hugs,

Judy

Billie,

I am so sorry you have been living with this anxiety for 3 weeks.  First, you are in my and my family's prayers.  Second, I hope that the support from this group, who you have been so supportive of, makes the wait until your husband's appointment a little easier.  Don't hesitate to vent to or lean on us as often as you need.  God knows you have been here for many of us over and over again.  Finally, I hope this is one of those times where you prepare yourself for the worst but get to breathe a HUGE sigh of relief because everything turns out just fine.

Thinking of you,

Nat

Wow, You all are absolutely AWSOME, WONDERFUL, & So supportive, I am truly blessed to have so many wonderful friends. I know that a lot of you are going through such rough times right now, much worse than playing the waiting game like I am. But you were able to lift my spirits, a lot. Traci I'm so happy your cat came back safe and sound. Sometimes just holding your loving pet is the most comforting feeling in the world. I don't know what I'd do without my little dog Annie. She's not spoiled, she just has us well trained! Somehow she senses something is not quite right so she spends half her time with Ron and the other half with me. I think animals are so much smarter then we give them credit for.

I love you guys, I feel so much better since I told you whats going on, I just keep reading all your posts over and over it is so comforting to me.  Love Billie

Hey Billie, I am not much for prayer, but, for what it is worth, I am hoping that all works out in the next couple of weeks for you and your husband.  You deserve it.  Will be thinking of you, Jack

Hi everybody,

Ron has been dx with polycythemia vera. He has too many red blood cells. They took a pint of blood out of him right away, he's getting a body scan thursday, and we'll see onc on Friday. I hope they take another pint of blood out of him then. He's not feeling better yet but I guess it takes a while. He's lost 20 pounds. Could I please have a virtual hug? I'm so scared.   Love Billie

Oh my goodness - I'm so sorry to hear this Billie. At the very least I'm glad you know what you are dealing with now, but two blood disorders between you - that seems a bit on the unfair side :( I imagine taking blood is the treatment in this stage? I do hope that you two have some family or friends to help you both out? Please know that we really care about you - and make sure Annie is giving you lots of hugs too xxx.
