Got a "nice" surprise when i got to the hospital today, the onc said, im going to do a BMB on you today.

Luckily it went a lot better than the first time, and i got a sedative to help me relax while he was poking around in my sternum. (The thing that hurt the most was actually getting the local anesthetic.)

Anyway, he was pleased with my CBC, but i will have to wait 10 days for the result of my PCR test, and maybe even longer for my BMB results.

My counts were as follows:

The results in () are from my tests 6 weeks ago.

HBG: 12.9

Platelets: 140

WBC: 6.3 (4.5)

Neutrophil: 2.5 (2.3)

Eosinophil: 1.9 (0.6)

Basophil: 0.1 (0.1)

Lymphocyte: 1.3 (1.3)

Monocyte: 0.5 (0.2)

The time in between the results, i have been on antibiotics for a throat infection, and seemed to develop some mouth sores after that. Maybe thats why the Eosinophiles have gone up, im not sure, but my onc didnt seem worried. (Eosinophil count was 6.7 at dx, then it went quickly down after starting Gleevec to 1.8, then to 0,6 and 0,6)

The antibiotic i was on (Doxycycline) can apparently raise levels of Eosinophiles in some cases.

Do the blood results look okay?

Will post cytogenic and pcr results when i get them.

Still CHR.  BMB and PCR will be more revealing.
