Thanks guys, I've had some improvement in the numbness, which is a relief. The pain got worse up my arms, like a burning pain. So that wasn't fun, but the doctors aren't concerned. My haematologist doesn't think it's gleevec related or PN, so that's good at least. Possibly carpal tunnel or a compression in my neck is what they've said. I have to wait a few weeks and see if it improves first.

In other news, I managed to pick up another gastro bug as soon as I got home, couldn't believe it - 2 in 2 weeks...how's the luck!!

Diagnosed 9 June 2011, Glivec 400mg June 2011-July 2017, Tasigna 600mg July 2017-present (switched due to intolerable side effects, and desire for future cessation attempt).

Commenced monthly testing when MR4.0 lost during 2012.

Your tummy was probably still recovering from the last bout. Hope if gets better soon.

Reminds me I still carry Gastro Stop in my handbag, need to check the expiration date on it. Took six moths for that to return to normal.

Any local naturopath can give you B12 shots, you can also buy in bulk, the seem to help with fatigue also.

Diagnosed 3/2014 WBC 28 Non detectable within 3 monthsGleevec 400 mg 5/2014 one hour after dinner really improves nausea300 mg 12/15/2016200 mg and 300 mg Gleevec 2/25/2017 (after 3 years on Gleevec) For last four months taking 300 mg per day. Last CMC showed liver enzymes elevated, went to a good Naturopath and he recommended 4 Tumeric, 10,000 mg Vitamen D, and 3 milk thistle (silymarin) daily. Also use One<p>Day Detox Dandeloin tea, and Nettle Tea and a slice of ginger every day...in two months liver tests were below normal.Janis

Hey guys,

Well it's now been almost 4 weeks since this numbness started. I am still getting the numb hands occasionally overnight, only in the ulnar nerve area, which I think rules out carpal tunnel. Still having tingling during the day in my hands and up my arms. The doctor thinks I have cervical radiculopathy. So there's that. The other complicating thing that happened 2 nights ago, was that now my feet are numb. I woke in the middle of the night with a numb sciatic nerve in my right leg, managed to shake it off, but I now have a numb right foot. Again the right is worse than the left, same as my hands. I have also had tingling in my toes for the past 2 weeks.

What the heck is going on here? I'd love to think it's exactly as the doctor thinks, but why have I got multiple nerves involved? I had a tetanus shot about 10 days before the symptoms started, it wouldn't be that would it??

Very sad and frightened right now. I am trying so hard not to get carried away with what it might be, but it is very hard.

Hi Pin

This is on http://www.rxlist.co...drug-center.htm

"Tell the doctor immediately if any of these rare but very serious side effects occur: tingling of the hands/feet, hearing problems, trouble swallowing, muscle weakness, seizures."

I would try increasing metabolites such as potassium and magnesium, but also Vitamins B12 and D, to see if there is any improvement.  TKI depletion of potassium and magnesium can lead to such symptoms, although not always as severe as yours.  This would just be a first step, and one you can control yourself.

The tetanus or TDAP shot can rarely have such side effects.  I don't know if it would take 10 days to develop.  There is a tetanus toxin IgG test which can be done which could show if your IgG levels went too high in response to the shot:

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the feedback. They think I have another radiculopathy in my lower back or another type of nerve compression. Just a bit much to cope with all at once really. I'm now taking a B complex, which is supposed to be good for nerves too. Thanks again, hopefully it will start improving soon, numbness is not a nice feeling.

Hi Nat:  I could not believe I read this, as I am having the same problem.  I have severe Arthritis of my spine, and if I sleep on my back my hands get numb and wake me up.  I can only sleep on my left side.  Something is pressing on a nerve in my spine I was told, as I am also suffering with Sciatica down the back of both legs.  I have been in terrible pain, and cannot even sit at the computer for long.

I try to move around as much as I can, and it does give me some relief.  I have bad Arthritis of my knee also.  I can hardly do what I used to do.  Hope you find something to give you relief.
