Hi all,

Just called by onc's office with my PCR test results from last week.  I have been confused a bit the last couple test results based upon the explanations of my doc.  Thought I would look for clarification here.

Background:

July 2011 diagnosis - WBC 225,000

On Sprycel since August 2011

November 2012 PCR was "...no transcripts detectable..." the number I saw on the report was 0.00

February 2012 PCR (I haven't seen the report yet) according to my doc indicated that "...a little showed up but nothing to worry about right now (ie waiting to keep eye on trend)..."

May 2012 - Last week's result was "no transcripts detected and the number was 0.000 - I did confirm it was to three decimal points

Doc said great news.  I'm still trying to understand if this would be MMR or CMR...or something else.

Any comments will be welcomed and appreciated.

Wishing everyone continued good health and many happy days...

Mike

"Doc said great news.  I'm still trying to understand if this would be MMR or CMR...or something else." ...

That would be CMR, PCR undetected, no CML that can be measured... You now start the clock for how long you stay undetected and remain in Complete Molecular Remission. If you can hold that for two years, you could consider stopping medication and see if your body can keep you there for the rest of your life. CMR is a wonderful place.

Diagnosed 11 May 2011 (100% FiSH, 155% PCR)

with b2a2 BCR-ABL fusion transcript coding for the 210kDa BCR-ABL protein

Sprycel: 20 mg per day - taken at lights out with Quercetin and/or Magnesium Taurate

6-8 grams Curcumin C3 complex.

2015 PCR: < 0.01% (M.D. Anderson scale)

2016 PCR: < 0.01% (M.D. Anderson scale)

March        2017 PCR:     0.01% (M.D. Anderson scale)

June          2017 PCR:     "undetected"

September 2017 PCR:     "undetected"

Scuba was right about CMR but the rest of his reply is  hyperbole.

... also known as 'wishful thinking', but then again... maybe not:
