Please let me know if there is an antihistamine acceptable to take with Gleevec.  Unable to get Novartis drug company to tell me... they say ask your doctor.

You need to avoid products containing Tylenol but it is ok to take Zrtek.  I recently checked with my pharmacist because I was battling a bad cold.

Try checking on an interactions checker such as this one: http://www.drugs.com...teractions.html

I take cetirizine for my hay fever which is fine with Gleevec.

I take Clariton everyday, the above post said check drug interaction. Also check with your doctor and ask a pharmacist as they are very informative on drug interaction

Benedryl is definitely safe to take.

Since everyone is an individual, to be 100% safe you should always check with your doctor whenever you are going to take something.  Even better, make a list of common things you take when you get a cold, allergies, stomach ache, head ache etc and bring it with you to next appt and ask the doctor if any are an issue.  A pharmacist will have a comprehensive database to look up interactions as well.

Having said that, I am on Gleevec and I have taken Benadryl, Claritin, and Nasonex for allergies.
