Interesting question Michael. Would we all test positive, it has been said for years we all carry cancel cells, some just take off and mutate while others never move past the initial abnormality.
These conversations are fascinating.

If anyone has over a million leukemic cells in their blood (the minimum required for BCR-ABL PCR positivity) then they have CML. Repeating bovine sharts over and over does not make it ice cream.

I just had a nice dinner with friends tonight - I'll rebut you tomorrow!
But here's a primer on how the immune system works. Enjoy ...

One or a million leukemic cells does not cancer make. Believe what you want.

Congratulations Joel,
I figured you must still be negative and just getting on with life.
I'm 18 months off TKI now as well.
that is such wonderful news, Gerry! Glad to have another following suit. The more we can provide data to the researchers, the better. Keep on truckin' with good health!

Hello to all of my Brothers and Sisters in arms! I know it's been a REEEEEEEEALLLY long time since I've given a progress report. I've frankly gotten back to my life and put CML out of my mind but still think of everyone here. Hopefully, this report gives hope but I am now over Four years and two months of Gleevec cessation and happy to say my PCR-ABL tests are still undetectable. My diet has been healthier since going off of the meds (I say this as I'm eating Carl's Jr. ) But other than that, no crazy life style changes.
I hope everyone is getting better with the new treatments!
Take care.
Joel

Way to go Joel, congrats! I'll use this as an opportunity to chime in with my own update: now 14 months off Sprycel and still PCRU. Stay the course Brother Joel...
