I live in south central Pennsylvania very close to Gettysburg (I'm the Texans here have heard of G'burg). I've had a bear eating my birdseed and finally caught him in the act on my security cam. My big brave Golden retriever is very smart and plays possum by staying asleep every time the bear is here. Not a peep or bark out of her.

What a great visitor,  I live out in the middle of nowhere and enjoy the wildlife.  We have a motion camera and get lots of great pictures.  Thanks for sharing.  Loreta

Hey ww,

Thats a pretty big boy does he do any damage? How much do you figure he weighs? We have been getting a lot of night visitors lately. But no bears yet. I heard on the news that somewhere on the east side of Erie in the city a black bear has been spotted a few times over the last couple years. It hasn't been caught yet. We have about 5 deer running around the neighborhood.  The other morning Ron went outside at dawn and a big buck was mosying down our driveway. I wish the neighborhood skunk would leave town. He's been making his presence known the last few weeks.

We live less than a mile from the lake and a few years ago some people who live along the lake front hired some Amish people to do some construction work and one of thier horses got loose (clydsdale) we came home and our whole front yard had huge plattersize hoofprints all over it got about 5 miles before they caught it and it did thousands of dollars worth of damage.  I'm about ready to move back to the city.                Nice Video           Billie

The only damage he has done is to break the birdfeeder mounting brackets and knocked the deck railing pickets loose. This is the 5th time he has visited (that I know of). I stopped feeding the birds for a month but he's baaaaaaack. My guess is that he weighs at least 250 lbs. Bears love birdseed, one time I watched him sit on my patio and just pour the seed out of the feeder like it was popcorn.

ww,

Don't you get a bit nervous at times? Bears make strange bedfellows     I'm gonna get rid of my birdfeeder.     You know the old question does a bear s--- in the woods ? Well I don't know for sure but I know Billie would S--- anywhere if she saw a bear in her woods.
