Just returned after about three days off the boards and a huge chunk of the 'Off Topic' thread seems to have vanished.  Was it something I said?  Did the vegetarians complain about the partridge recipe?

Anyway, my news is that I got the results of my creatinine test back today and it was back in the normal range.  The doctor's receptionist was most surprised when I punched the air in jubilation.  The lesson is that whilst skipping breakfast and having an intense 90 minute workout instead may be a great way to lose weight, if you do it right before a blood test then all the resultant alcohol abuse and comfort eating is highly counterproductive.  Now I can just get back to worrying about the global economy instead!

Hi Phil,

Good news on the results. Pity they didn't have a couple of stairs there for you to run up whilst they were playing the "Eye of the Tiger"

Hi Phil,

Congratulations, now the only numbers you have to worry about are the ones in your checkbook. They always go down much faster than any tki can lower cml numbers. Especially this time of year. When I was growing up we were so happy to get new clothes and shoes. We didn't need toys we were always outside playing. Times sure are changing.     Billie

Thanks all.  The thought that I might have to choose between my response and my kidneys was not a cheering one!  The weird thing is that, as with waiting for all my other results, I seem to be in pretty good shape mentally until about an hour after I get the results, at which point the shell shock hits every time.  It was a real problem that I got these ones in the morning so had to wait a long time before starting drinking!

Judy, I sincerely hope you manage to resolve your creatinine issues too.

Phil

Phil, I will bump this post for a long time, your results are great enough to celebrate, and there is way too much good in the sentence above not to keep it on top!   Lessons may be learned, but not always utilized.
