Hi Everyone. I woke up this morning, after being on Tasigna for only 3 days, with a rash all over my chin and on my forehead. Is there anything I can do for it? Will it go away? If this happened after only three days am I going to wake up one morning and find I look like a lobster? When I was on Gleevec I developed seborrhea and exceedingly dry skin. After one week off the Gleevec the seborrhea and dry skin were completely gone. Now this!!! I've read that Sprycel can also cause skin issues. Does anyone know anything about Bosutinib? From what I've read it seems like there are fewer side effects with this med., including less skin issues. When will it be available to the public? Is there a way, if I needed to, that I could get on  this med. even though it is still in clinical trials. STUPID CML Thanks in advance for any help.

Judy

Skin issues are a major reason why I'm not keen to swap to Tasigna, even though my specialist thinks I will have less side effects - I'm hoping to be able to do a dosage reduction of Gleevec in a couple of years, which hopefully reduces my Gleevec rashes.

My tasigna rash started after about 5 days on Tasigna. It's worse now because of the colder, drier air, but it was very faint to start with.  The redness in my face has decreased (most days).  I think we should all buy stock in the lotion companies.

Thanks everyone. Lizzybee, what kind of lotion do you use? Do you know anything about the availability of Bosutinib? My chin is not only red, it looks like there are welts there, also. Have you ever had that? I just came out of the shower and I look like a boiled lobster- I'm beginning to develop a fear of drawn butter.

Judy,

I haven't had welts, but soon after I started Tasigna, my face would be beet red when I got out of the shower, and it would gradually fade somewhat.  I still have a lot of redness, but I no longer feel like I have to paint a mask on my face to hide it; one layer of foundation is sufficient now. I rotate a couple of moisturizers, one is from aloette, one is clinique (it's tinted and has sunscreen in it), and the other is from Estee Lauder (it's supposed to be a mask that you rinse off after 15 minutes, but Paula Begoun at www.beautypedia.com recommends leaving it on because it has lots of antioxidants in it).

On my body, I use Lubriderm or Aloette lotions, but my oncology nurse recommended Eucerin, so I'll try that after I use up what I have.

On the beautypedia website, there is a list of the best products for sensitive skin - you might want to check that out.

Good luck,

Elizabeth

Thanks, Elizabeth, for taking the time to reply. I will check out the moisturizers, as well as the website.
