My Rheumatologist ran some labs because I have undefined auto immune for 10 or more years.  I was DX with CML in Feb. 2011.  This new lab flags some abnormal proteins bands 1, 2 and 3 and M protein.  Of course I googled it and see that this is present in Myeloproliferative disorders ( multile myeloma)  So, is this a common protein in CML or is this a second blood disorder.  Rheumatologist states that this M protein can also be present in MGUS.  I'm not understanding if this has always been there.  Waiting on MD Anderson to respond as well.  Just had my 9month BMA on Monday.  Anyone else aware of this.  TREY????

These are not normally associated with CML.  If the M-protein level is less than 3 g per dL then it is likely not serious.  Over that level you should have more testing done.
